Connector

Also called connected apps

A link that lets an AI app read from, and sometimes act in, another service you use, like your email, calendar or files.

On its own, a chatbot only knows what you type or upload. A connector gives it access to one of your services: it can search your email, read your calendar, open files in your drive, or create a task in your project tracker.

That's often the most useful upgrade you can make, because the AI answers from your real information instead of your summary of it. It's also access you're handing over. A connector can usually reach whatever that account can reach, and anything the AI reads through it, like an email from a stranger, arrives as text the model may treat as instructions. Connect what you need, nothing more.

For example

With your calendar connected, "find a free hour next week for the dentist" works without you listing your meetings.
