Regenerate

Also called regenerate response, try again, retry

Asking the AI to answer the same message again, from scratch, to get a different version.

Ask an AI the same thing twice and you'll rarely get the same words. Each answer is built one piece at a time, with a little chance in which piece comes next, so a new attempt wanders down a different path.

That's useful in two ways. For creative work, regenerating is like asking a room of writers: you see a few takes and keep the best. For facts, it's a quick test. If the answer is solid, new attempts tend to agree on the substance. If they contradict each other, the model is probably unsure, even when every version sounds confident.

Each try is a whole new answer, so it uses up your plan's allowance like any other message. If several tries miss in the same way, the request needs rewording, not another spin.

For example

You regenerate a birthday poem 3 times and keep the version with the best last line.
