Usage limit
Also called message limit
The cap on how much you can use an AI app in a period. Most now count the work done, not just messages.
Every AI app limits how much you can use it, because each answer costs real computing. Simple message counts are mostly gone. Most limits now count work: a long chat costs more per message because the whole conversation is reread each turn, and big files, images, thinking modes, web search and research all add more.
So 2 people on the same plan can reach the limit at very different times. Some apps, when you reach a limit, carry on with a lighter model, which can make answers seem to get worse for no obvious reason.
For example
Uploading a 60-page PDF and discussing it for an hour can use more of your allowance than a day of short questions.
