AI browser

Also called agentic browser, browser agent

A web browser with a built-in AI assistant that reads your pages and, in agent mode, clicks and fills in forms for you.

An AI browser puts an assistant beside every page. Ask it to summarise an article, compare products across tabs or explain a form, and it reads what you're looking at. In agent mode it goes further and acts: it scrolls, clicks, types and moves between sites while you watch.

Because it acts as you, with your cookies and saved logins, it inherits your access to email, banking and shopping accounts. Security researchers at Brave showed the danger: a hidden comment on a Reddit page told Perplexity's Comet browser to fetch the user's email address and a one-time login code and send them out, and it did. OpenAI has said this kind of attack is "unlikely to ever be fully 'solved'".

Use agent mode for low-stakes chores, and stay in the loop for anything involving money or accounts.

For example

You ask the browser to compare 3 hotels you have open in tabs and book the cheapest one with free cancellation.
